Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: May 6, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") forms part of the Terms of Service and governs acceptable use of the VynCo platform, API, and all related services. By accessing or using VynCo, you agree to comply with this AUP. VynCo reserves the right to update this policy at any time with notice provided through the dashboard or email.
1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy governs use of VynCo's Swiss corporate intelligence platform and API. VynCo provides a commercial Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) platform that delivers company data from official Swiss government registries for development, research, and business intelligence purposes. This AUP is designed to ensure that all users interact with the platform responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (nDSG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
All users, including those on the Free tier, are bound by this AUP. Violations may result in enforcement actions as described in Section 7 below.
2. Permitted Use
VynCo is designed for the following lawful and intended use cases: Software development and testing — use company data to build, test, and validate applications; Machine learning model training and evaluation — train and benchmark models with representative datasets; Academic research and education — use retrieved data for coursework, research papers, and educational demonstrations; Quality assurance and demo environments — populate staging and QA systems with realistic data; Compliance testing and audit preparation — simulate business scenarios for compliance workflows and regulatory sandbox environments.
3. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited: Circumventing rate limits, quota allocations, or API authentication mechanisms; Reverse engineering the platform or its underlying algorithms; Sharing API keys or allowing unauthorized access to your account; Automated scraping or bulk extraction beyond API rate limits; Using the service for illegal activities or fraud of any kind; Unauthorized resale of raw retrieved data without value-add.
4. Data Handling Requirements
All users must adhere to the following data handling practices: Labeling — clearly label all exported company data with its source (Zefix, SHAB/SOGC, SECO, OpenSanctions, Wikidata, FAOA via VynCo) for its intended purpose; Separation — do not commingle retrieved data with production systems inappropriately; Access controls — implement appropriate access controls on datasets; Retention — follow the data retention policies associated with your service tier.
5. API Usage Guidelines
When interacting with the VynCo API, you must observe rate limits for your tier and use appropriate authentication with the correct API key prefixes. Report security vulnerabilities through responsible disclosure to security@vynco.ch. Do not attempt to access other users' data or account resources.
6. Rate-Limit and Quota System
VynCo enforces per-tier × endpoint-group rate limits. Each subscription tier unlocks a set of endpoint groups (search, per-company detail, analytics, methodology, AI generation, bulk processing) and applies separate per-hour or per-day quotas to each. Hitting a quota returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header; calling a group not unlocked on your tier returns HTTP 403. Quota abuse — including creating throwaway accounts to multiply the Free tier allocation or using automated systems to register multiple accounts — is strictly prohibited.
7. Enforcement
VynCo enforces this AUP through a graduated response model: First minor violation — written warning via email with remediation guidance; Repeated violations — temporary suspension of API access and account; Serious violation — permanent termination of account and services. Subscription fees associated with accounts subject to suspension or termination due to AUP violations are non-refundable.
8. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it immediately to abuse@vynco.ch. Reports should include a description of the suspected violation, any relevant evidence, and the identity of the violating party if known. VynCo will investigate all reports promptly and will not retaliate against any user who reports a suspected violation in good faith.
