Cookie Policy

Effective date: February 20, 2026 | Last updated: February 20, 2026

This Cookie Policy is part of the Privacy Policy and should be read alongside our Terms of Service. It explains how VynCo uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies.

1. Introduction

VynCo is committed to transparency about how we collect and use data related to your use of our platform. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use, why we use them, and what choices you have regarding their use. VynCo also sources company data from official Swiss government registries (Zefix and LINDAS) published under open licenses, and we are transparent about these data sources.

We believe in using only the minimum amount of browser storage necessary to provide you with a functional and secure experience. We do not use cookies or similar technologies for advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking.

2. What Are Cookies

Cookies and similar technologies are small pieces of data stored by your web browser. They are widely used to make websites function, improve efficiency, and provide information to site operators. The main types include:

  • HTTP Cookies — Small text files set by a web server and stored by your browser. They are sent back to the server with every subsequent request. Cookies can be “session” (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” (remain until they expire or are deleted).
  • localStorage — A browser storage mechanism that allows websites to store key-value pairs persistently in your browser. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is not automatically sent to the server with each request and has no expiration date (it persists until explicitly cleared).
  • sessionStorage — Similar to localStorage, but data is cleared when the browser tab is closed. It is scoped to an individual browser tab.

3. Current Cookie Usage

VynCo does not currently set any HTTP cookies.

Our platform relies exclusively on browser localStorage for the limited purposes described below. Because localStorage data is never automatically transmitted to our servers, this approach offers a privacy advantage over traditional HTTP cookies.

Strictly Necessary Storage

These items are essential for the platform to function. Without them, core features such as authentication would not work.

4. Third-Party Cookies

VynCo does not use any third-party cookies, tracking pixels, or similar technologies. We do not embed third-party advertising networks, social media tracking widgets, or cross-site analytics services that would set cookies in your browser.

This means:

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies
  • No social media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.)
  • No cross-site tracking or fingerprinting
  • No data sharing with ad networks or data brokers

5. Analytics

VynCo does not currently use any client-side analytics tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or any similar analytics service that would set cookies or collect behavioral data from your browser.

If we decide to implement analytics in the future, we will:

  1. Update this Cookie Policy before any analytics tools are deployed.
  2. Implement a cookie consent mechanism that allows you to opt in or opt out of non-essential analytics before any tracking cookies are set.
  3. Prefer privacy-respecting analytics solutions that minimize data collection and do not share data with third parties.
  4. Clearly explain what data is collected, how it is used, and how long it is retained.

6. Future Changes

If VynCo begins using HTTP cookies or additional browser storage technologies in the future, we commit to the following:

  1. Policy Update. This Cookie Policy will be updated to reflect the new cookies or storage mechanisms, their purpose, and their duration. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
  2. Consent Banner. We will implement a cookie consent banner that appears before any non-essential cookies are set. Strictly necessary cookies (those required for the platform to function) may be set without prior consent, as permitted by applicable law.
  3. Granular Controls. We will provide a cookie preferences center where you can review and manage consent for individual cookie categories (e.g., functional, analytics, marketing) with the ability to opt in or out of each category independently.
  4. Notification. Existing users will be notified of material changes to this policy via email or an in-dashboard notification.

7. Managing Browser Data
